Repeat buyers on account, large baskets, and purchase orders that arrive before payment does. The card is often a purchasing card carrying Level II and Level III data, which qualifies for better interchange only if the platform actually passes that data through.
Commercial cards cost more than consumer cards unless Level II and Level III data goes with the transaction. Many platforms never send it, and the merchant pays the difference every month without knowing why.
