How a state change happens
- The participant submits
- A remediation is a claim that something was changed. It is recorded as a claim, and it changes nothing on its own.
- The rescan decides
- The same classifier that raised the finding re-examines the same surface. A pass moves state; a fail restarts the clock.
- Nobody accepts it manually
- There is no reviewer approval step, because a step that can be skipped under pressure is not a control. Escalation past deadline is automatic for the same reason.
Recording the work is not endorsing it
This screen tracks what a participant says it did and what the rescan found. It never records an opinion that the remediation was adequate, because that judgement belongs to the rescan result and to the institution, not to the operator sitting between them.
